NEW Vlog Premier
Alrighty, the first vlog is up on YouTube! Some BTS knowledge: I had absolutely no script when filming this video. No direction, nothing. I wasn't even sure this footage would end up on YouTube.
The night before, my husband and I played "Don't Scream" on Steam and streamed it on his Twitch channel (shout out RHhoover!). I requested we play and make a streaming event out of it for my birthday. He hadn't streamed in a bit, so I thought it would be a fun activity for us while also helping him get some movement on his channel again. After we were done, I started to edit the footage with the intention to make a highlight reel for those who missed the live. Cutting up the footage and getting the pacing just right was way more fun then I thought it was going to be. I was immediately motivated to shoot more footage just so I could edit it, all before I was even done with the current video.
The next morning, it was the day before my birthday, and I had the idea to document my day so I could edit it later. I figured it would also make for a cute memory that I could rewatch at some point down the road. It was also a great birthday gift to myself where I could spend more time editing and making more content without feeling guilty about. I try not to feel guilty about spending time on creative tasks, but its hard to not feel like its a waste if there's no money in it. Unfortunately, we live in a world where our worth and success is highly tied to how much money we make or currently have. I actively try to change my way of thinking, but old habits die hard. Anyway, thats a topic for another day.
I'm really proud at how both videos turned out. I wanted to add subtitles to the gameplay video, but couldn't do it at the time. Thankfully, I was able to do so on my vlog. I didn't think a voiceover fit the aesthetic, so I opted for subtitles instead. Putting myself out there like this was not too bad. I figure since I already have my online shop named after me, I got used to having a piece of me on display in some way shape or form on the internet. YouTube is definitely its own league, but so far I'm enjoying it.
Now, without further ado, here is my 1st vlog on Montana's Canvas. Enjoy~
