How Vlogging Is Helping Me Stay Organized
For those who might be new to my world, let me give you a glimpse into my daily struggle: organization and focus have never been my strong suits. My coping mechanism? Lists. Lots and lots of lists. I scribble down tasks throughout the day, set timers to keep me on track – it's a whole production. But here's the kicker: ever since I embarked on this vlogging journey, something remarkable has happened. Suddenly, staying true to my goals feels easier, more attainable. How? Well, let me spill the tea~
My scattered "to-do" lists have undergone a fascinating transformation into "to-film" lists. You see, if I don't capture it on camera, it doesn't make it into the next video. Simple as that. So, I've become hyper-aware of ensuring I film (almost) every aspect of my day, from start to finish. It's not just about ticking off tasks anymore; it's about crafting a cohesive visual story. And you know what? I'm already witnessing tangible improvements in my daily routine, all thanks to the power of ✨vlogging✨. It's like having a personal accountability coach following me around with a camera – and it's pretty darn cool, not as creepy as it sounds.
But hey, let's keep it real – there are still some hurdles to overcome. Case in point: filming in public. Picture this: I'm surrounded by a sea of strangers, yet I feel oddly exposed, vulnerable even. The last thing I want is to make anyone uncomfortable with my camera antics, so I tend to err on the side of caution. Sneakily capturing snippets of my surroundings becomes the name of the game, each clip a tiny victory in my quest for vlogging confidence.Take, for instance, my recent escapade to a local café. The sun was shining, the air was crisp – a perfect setting for some cinematic shots, right? As I navigated through the bustling café, I couldn't shake off the twinge of self-consciousness. But hey, practice makes perfect, right? So, armed with determination, I discreetly filmed snippets of my food, my drink, and of course, a quick glimpse of yours truly. Sure, it felt a tad awkward, but I'm convinced that with each outing, the jitters will fade, and my vlogging prowess will soar.
If I had a friend with me, I think I’d be more comfortable to film the inside of the cafe, it was pretty nice in there. But hey, all things considered, it was a pretty successful venture. The vibes were chill, the food was divine (seriously, that portobello sandwich was a game-changer), and I even managed to squeeze in some work on a new print for my store. Score! If you're curious, the place I visited was Locomotive Espresso. They had a fair amount of seating. A bit on the smaller side, but quaint. There was seating outside too. I'd love to go back with my husband and Enzo and chill out there.
